It’s troubling that white people try to equate what they experience to what POC experience
so what if someone called you a cracker that one time in high school? Seriously so fucking what? How does that in any way match up to what PoC are currently experiencing and will mostly likely experience for the rest of their lives? How does it match up to being unable to trust or call the police for help? How does it equate to knowing the justice system will never do it’s job and if you’re attacked/hurt/assaulted? How does it match up to being called the n word or other actual racial slurs (seriously cracker is not a fucking racial slur)?
Oh yeah, it doesn’t. So no one cares if you were called a cracker by a PoC that one time, no one cares if a minority hit you that other time, seriously no one gives a fuck. You don’t get to act like a victim of racism while real victims are fighting for their lives everyday.
Fuck off.
I’m waiting for these people to tell me about the time the police officer told them their cracker ass might not get home that night, or the teacher said they were just being an unruly cracker and they’d fail if they didn’t “act right”, or the creepy old man down the street followed them, asking how much for their cracker ass, or their own cousins said they were just dirty ass crackers because they were too light with hair too straight.
I want to hear about their grandparents talking about how the family tree is missing places from the people who were killed to that word. Or the other part of the family tree which is missing because some relatives didn’t want to acknowledge their white blood.
I want to hear about how celebrities dress up in white face and play caricatures of what white people are, and how the politicians get cracker as the death threat sent their way.
I want to hear about going to their SO’s family and hearing them call them a cracker to their face or behind their back.
I want to hear about how there’s codewords in the restaurants and the stores the employees use to tell each other to give less service “Because we all know how crackers are, though we can’t say it because of PC police”.
Actually, I don’t want to hear any of those lies but we come back to the simple truth of the delusion these people ride under:
White feefees »»> POC lives, death, survival, anything.
“One time someone said something mean to me” is obviously more important than someone shot, bleeding out on the ground, for being the wrong color, and no one will do anything, now, nor do will anything be done after to show you ever mattered.
